Martin Roddy formed Big Dog Productions in June 1999. Since then the Company has co-produced and collaborated in productions at Palace Theatre, Watford; Shaw Theatre, Euston; Key Theatre, Peterborough; Pomegranate Theatre, Chesterfield and Gordon Craig Theatre, Stevenage. Current projects include a major tour in conjunction with Theatre Royal Bath Productions and a new production of Tom McGrath's Laurel & Hardy starring Peter Duncan and Damian Williams. The Glee Club's transfer from The Bush Theatre to the Duchess Theatre in May 2002 was the Company's first venture into the West End.

Prior to setting up Big Dog Productions, Martin was Chairman and joint shareholder in a major distributor of JCB earthmoving and agricultural equipment and also held similar roles in a company specialising in off road vehicles. He continues to be Chairman and major shareholder of a specialist 4 wheel drive centre in the Scottish Highlands.
