Peter Klein has been active in the national and international scene since founding Living Arts in 1972. He brought American Ballet Theatre with Baryshnikov and Kirkland to Italy for their first tour, and subsequently arranged tours of Israel, Europe and the Far East for the Pearl Lang Company, the Feld Ballet, Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo, San Francisco Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, the Dance Theater of Harlem, Erick Hawkins Dance Company, the Sydney Ballet, Boston Ballet, and National Ballet of Canada, La Scala Ballet, Les Ballets de Monte Carlo, on European and American tours. He sent Pilobus and Twyla Tharp on their first visits to Israel and brought Mummenschanz to Israel and South America. He sent the 1980 Broadway production of West Side Story to Europe, where it was the first original Broadway production of this American classic in Italy and France. In the last two years in addition to Porgy and Bess, Living Arts has toured Opera Nazionale Italiana in the US, the Harlem Gospel Ensemble to Portugal and Italy, sent the Gregg Smith Singers to Italy, toured the Joffrey Ballet (twice) and Jennifer Muller/The Works in Europe, and sent a production of Broadway Tonite to Japan, Hong Kong, and Switzerland.
