Tapfusion! is a unique and unprecedented experience that marries Caribbean steel pan, Lindy Hopping, Irish step, American rhythm, tap, and hip hop dance on a level that has not yet been seen before on a stage.

Tarik Winston (Tony Award winning Black & Blue, Broadway’s High Rollers Social Pleasure Club), the explosive American tap virtuoso of Riverdance, joins with Britain’s own Caribbean sensation Rustie Lee, for an amazing night of music, song and dance including styles as diverse as tap, jazz, Celtic, swing and African rhythms – with even some hip-hop thrown in!

Awakening Theatre Dance Company is an extraordinary dance company that was founded by the young black American dancer Tarik Winston in 1991 who marshalled the talents of many of his friends. Since 1991 the company has received accolades for its professionalism and unique artistry in venues both nationally and internationally. As performers Awakening offers a powerful presentation of Americas cultural diversity through the art of dance!
