In 2008 Cliff Richard celebrates a remarkable 50 years in the music industry – an unparalleled five decades of international stardom and chart-topping music – and today, three days after his 67th birthday, Cliff announces his golden anniversary TIME MACHINE TOUR which begins on 12 November 2008 at Wembley Arena.

To mark this momentous occasion Cliff will be embarking on a national arena tour from November 2008 which will visit London’s Wembley Arena, Cardiff’s International Arena, Birmingham’s NIA, Manchester’s Evening News Arena, Newcastle’s Metro Radio Arena, Glasgow’s SECC and Belfast’s Odyssey Arena. The Cliff Richard Time Machine Tour will feature all of Cliff’s favourite hits from his five decades in the music charts – PLUS each ticket holder at the concerts will receive a free souvenir DVD.

Cliff’s success is simply a part of the history of pop-rock music – Move It, Living Doll, The Young Ones, Summer Holiday, Congratulations, Devil Woman, We Don’t Talk Anymore, Miss You Nights, Carrie, Some People, Saviour’s Day, Mistletoe and Wine, Wired For Sound, The Best of Me, Millennium Prayer – to name but a few of the hit songs whose weeks in the music charts total a staggering 20 years!

Booking opened online for Cliff fans on Sunday morning at www.cliffrichard.org and the site was immediately inundated with over 50,000 login and ticket requests, and an inevitable slowing down of the site due to the unprecedented demand – this had been the first time in the history of Cliff Richard’s concerts that tickets to fans had been offered as a presale online. This morning (Wednesday) all venue box offices and phone lines opened for bookings by Cliff fans – including another set, at each venue, of prime seats in the front blocks. From Friday morning bookings are open online, at venues anhd by phone to the general public.
