THE PRESS RELEASES
Sensational Ice Skating returns as
Greenwich and Royal Windsor
announce their 2006/2007 seasons
Following the continuing success of the ice rink at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich and the success of last year’s inaugural ice skating season at Royal Windsor’s Alexandra Gardens – tickets for their new seasons of ice skating are now onsale.
The ice rink on the banks of the Thames at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich has quickly become a tradition. With magnificent views looking up to Queen’s House and the Greenwich Observatory, and also across the Thames to the many lights and buildings of Canary Wharf the ice rink is situated within the grounds of the Old Royal Naval College – one of the great baroque masterpieces of English architecture – and is set in its owned landscaped grounds on the banks of the River Thames in the centre of the Maritime Greenwich World Heritage Site.
Following last year’s hugely successful inaugural season this magnificent rink returns to Alexandra Gardens near the banks of the River Thames at Royal Windsor. The ice rink, which is a short walk downhill from the main streets and pageantry of Historic Royal Windsor, has magnificent views up to Windsor Castle - the largest inhabited castle in the world and the favourite weekend home of the Queen.
The Ice Rink Cafés alongside the ice rink (no entrance charge) will serve warming drinks and festive snacks for those wanting to take it easy and relax after their skate or whilst watching others take to the ice.
Booking for the ice-skating sessions (hourly sessions accommodating 250 people) will open by phone (0870 169 0101 for Greenwich at the Old Royal Naval College and 0870 169 6892 for Royal Windsor) and internet from Wednesday 28 June through Ticketmaster and www.londonicerinks.com. Tickets can also be bought in person in advance at the Greenwich Tourist Information Centre and the Royal Windsor Information Centre during their normal operational hours. Once the ice rinks are operational tickets can be bought onsite at the Box Office.
Following previous booking patterns it is anticipated that sessions at weekends and immediately around Christmas and New Year will sell extremely quickly so advance booking is strongly recommended.
Ice Rink Press Passes are available for the evening of Friday 1st December for both ice rinks. For more information on either ice rink, Press Passes, imagery and information on PWR Events contact PAUL SAVIDENT on 020 8567 2089, or e-mail paul@savident.com.
