THE PRESS RELEASES
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE 1 January 2003 Qdos Entertainment plc presents SAM KANE & SOPHIE LAWRENCE plus Big Brother’s JONNY REGAN
BOOGIE NIGHTS
JONNY REGAN, Geordie fireman and runner up in last year’s BIG BROTHER will be strutting his stuff as a special guest and joining the cast of the sensational 70’s musical BOOGIE NIGHTS as the Spring 2003 national tour gets underway.
Boogie Nights is the sensational show with an absorbing storyline featuring amazing dance routines and funky seventies costumes! Packed with classic seventies floor fillers including Boogie Wonderland, Celebration, Disco Inferno, Enough is Enough, I Will Survive, Play That Funky Music, Street Life, We Are Family and YMCA. Boogie Nights – The 70’s Musical is a celebration of the undying spirit of the decade that brought us glam, funk, flares and disco!
JONNY REGAN will join SAM KANE and SOPHIE LAWRENCE and the cast of Boogie Nights live on stage in the role of Mikey, the owner of Boogie Nights Nightclub. Alongside the productions own DJ, JONNY hosts the warm-up pre-show disco which begins 20minutes prior to each published performance time – and then JONNY begins the second half with his personal rendition of You Sexy Thing.
SAM KANE has been working constantly since leaving Brookside, attracting great reviews for his stage musical roles, touring in Carousel and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. SOPHIE LAWRENCE has also earned praise as a musical star in shows such as The Rocky Horror Show, and is much in demand since leaving her role as Diane Butcher in EastEnders.
The 2003 national tour of Boogie Nights will be visiting Birmingham, Northampton, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Dartford, Hull, Ipswich, St Albans, Darlington, Nottingham, Richmond and Coventry. Dates for the Autumn 2003 tour will shortly be announced.
