Second Season Announced for the

Royal Windsor Wheel

Saturday 30 June to Sunday 30 September 2007

Following last year’s hugely successful season the Royal Windsor Wheel returns to Alexandra Gardens this summer.  The season, which this year is for three months, is again presented by PWR Eye Ltd and the Royal Borough of Windsor and will be open to the public from Saturday 30 June through Sunday 30 September from 10am daily.

In July and August nearly 100,000 people experienced the Royal Windsor Observation Wheel.  With the spectacular backdrop of the medieval towers and battlements of the Royal Residence that is Windsor Castle this summer Borough residents and visitors will again be able to enjoy the historic sights of Windsor and the surrounding countryside from a very different angle – 200 feet in the air! The Royal Windsor Wheel’s cutting edge design is not only beautiful to look at - it also offers a unique and awe inspiring experience.

With views over the Queen’s Official Residence, Windsor Castle, and with the majestic River Thames meandering through the natural beauty and famous landmarks of Windsor, Eton and the Berkshire countryside, the Royal Windsor Wheel is an experience to remember.

The Royal Windsor Observation Wheel will be situated at the eastern end of Alexandra Gardens and has a giant diameter of 55 metres (180 feet).  Attached to the wheel are 40 observation pods, which each take a maximum of 6 people.  Each observation pod has a pearlised luminescence and the rim of the wheel is set with a single row of white lights.  Though there are a number of temporary observation wheels around the globe the Royal Windsor Observation Wheel is at the cutting edge of technology and is unique in having a self-stabilising mounting – unlike other temporary wheels around the country.  Each Royal Windsor Wheel Experience will encompass a number of rotations and will last approximately 20 minutes.

Royal Windsor is a unique town and the Royal Windsor Wheel will be another jewel fitting within its crown.

Booking for the Royal Windsor Observation Wheel will open on Monday 14 May 2007 online at www.royalwindsorwheel.com.  Tickets, subject to availability, will also be on sale between 10am and 10pm at the Wheel when it is operational.  It is anticipated that at weekends will sell extremely quickly so advance booking is strongly recommended.

Royal Windsor Wheel Press Passes are available for the evening of Friday 29 June 2007.  For more information on Royal Windsor Wheel, Passes, imagery and information on PWR Events contact PAUL SAVIDENT on 020 8567 2089, or e-mail paul@savident.com.
