A frosty start, though gloriously sunny.
After a cup of tea in bed it was upstairs to re-watch the first two segments of this week's A Week of the Plot. After breakfast, I was at the allotment pretty early as I was keen to try and get our first earlies in. They arrived a week or so ago and I'd put them on the cool side of a room, though unknowingly Richard had moved them to sit beside the radiator so when I opened the box the first earlies had started sprouting. However, I wasn't going to take these sprouts off as they'd already put energy into growing them, so instead they went into the bed as is where we've already got the Jersey Royals. The mood took me, and after a few other jobs I continued with our Sarpo Mira, our late potatoes. First I forked over the bed to remove bindweed roots, and then the seed potatoes went in. All in all, a good morning's work. After lunch I edited and then uploaded A Week at the Plot. It was then time for a bath as we were popping across and down the road to a friend's this evening as she was making us veggie sausage and mash. Weather: Frosty start, though again sunny. Quite blustery, and it looks far warmer than it actually is. Breakfast: Bran sticks, yogurt, sultanas and sliced banana Lunch: Omelette with yesterday's leftover Cheez & Onion filling, toast and baked beans (tin) Supper: Lidl Veggie Sausage, mash, gravy and salad at a neighbour
